One of four tractor trailer Mobile Medical Units acquired by the TX EMTF in 2021.
Mobile Medical Unit (MMU)
Mission:
- 24/7 response asset providing care for a variety of acuity levels while providing triage, treatment, transfer, & or discharge
- Physical assets to create a self-sufficient, tent & trailer based, field hospital or ER [based upon the number of beds needed]
- Medical equipment, supplies, & a pharmaceutical cache specifically designed for the MMU
- Over 175 Hospitals, Healthcare Systems, & Physician Groups are TX EMTF members, deployable on behalf of the State of Texas
- MMUs are pre-positioned in all [8] TX EMTF Regions

Typing and Staffing
- Typing is dependent upon number of beds, mission duration, & number of patient beds
- MMU’s are typed in [6] scaled personnel and asset packages that range from a team of [5] for [4-8] beds & a single operational period to ateam of [36] for [32] beds & multi-day with 24/7 operations deployment
- MMU teams are comprised of team members that are actively practicing in an acute care setting:
- Physicians, mid-level practitioners, nurses, paramedics, pharmacy & patient care technicians, clerks, communications/IT technicians, &logistics personnel
